Lahesh cave is a natural rock shelter, adjacent to the Laqa Glacier which has been used by 'gaddis', traveller’s and pilgrims for shelter on the trail since ancient times.
It is located in the Dhauladars, at the base of Moon Peak, which has one of the greatest vantage points in the entire range because it offers a bird's-eye view of Triund hill, Dharamshala, and Kangra Valley all the way up to Pong Dam.
The breathtaking sunset from this cave and the views of the illuminated valley below beneath the clear starry sky make it the highlight of this trip.
The seasonal Laqa glacier, which flows down the slope close to the cave, is another highlight of this trek.
It is the most accessible glacier in the entire subcontinent, accessible via an easy trail.
The ideal time to see the white magic on the mountains and glacier is during the early season, specifically April to June.
