Beas kund is an easy trek that starts from solang valley, close to Manali town. It is an emerald lake fed by the melting glaciers from the big mountains surrounding it. To paint you a picture, imagine lush green grasslands, waterfalls, glaciers and snow clad big mountains surrounding you while you sit by the side of this emerald green glacial lake. The best part is that all of this is accessible within two days of easy hike up the river. In early season one can also witness frozen waterfalls and snow, covering the grasslands all the way up to the big mountains such as Hanuman Tibba, Friendship Peak, Shitidhar and Ladakhi peaks Beas kund is also said to be the bathing and meditating spot of rishi 'Vyas' who wrote the 'Mahabharata', as per mythology. The altitude is fairly average and the road connectivity is good, making this is ideal and rewarding trip for beginners.
