Dayara Bugyal is renowned for being one of the most picturesque treks with vast, lush green meadows and big mountains in the backdrop.
The trail is rated beginner to moderate. It leads you through forests of oak, maple and rhododendron to the vast high altitude meadows.
Being on our own "To do" list for more than 5 years, we ended up visiting Dayara bugyal only when we couldn't get permits for Gaumukh - Tapovan ( A high altitude trek in the Gangotri region, not too far from Dayara. ) due to bad weather.
It was a refreshing experience, taking a back seat from higher altitudes and technical stuff. A must visit in our books!
Breathtaking views with the mountains of greater Himalayas dominating the skyline, is a treat for the eyes and soul. Big peaks such as Kala Nag, Srikanth, Jaonli, Draupadi ka Danda or DKD 2 along with the Bandarpoonch massif stay with you till the end of the hike.
It is a completely different perspective if you have been on one or more of the peaks in the backdrop of this beautiful, relaxing trail. There is a beauty in the meadows that one realize only when you are there.
One can visit Dayara all year round. Winters make it a white wonderland, Spring brings with it, blooming rhododendrons covering the mountain sides red and pink. Summer sees the meadows filled with colourful wildflowers while the monsoon turns it lush green and autumn paints it yellow and orange.
You will be drawn back time and time again to this place because it has so much to offer.
