Mon peak or Moon peak is the most prominent point seen from Mcleodganj, Dharamkot and Triund.
It lies next to Indrahar pass in the Dhauladar range of mountains which is a moderate to difficult peak climbing endeavour.
This is the prominent peak in the backdrop of Triund Hill meadows.
The towering heights of this climb offers great view of 'Kangra' valley all the way up to the 'Pong dam'. Steep slopes of the mountain, glacier and the meadows beneath make this climb quite a scenic extravaganza
One gets to spend quality time in Lahesh Cave before the summit day, witnessing the dance of sun and the clouds sitting the balcony of the mountain which offers great panoramic views of the valley.
It is an enduring climb during the season and a challenging, technical ascent pre-season when the slopes are full of snow.
There are multiple faces to climb this mountain depending upon the season and type of ascent you want to make.
