Experience the best of nature
In the Great Himalayan National park, there lies an unfrequented trail which takes you all the way to the source of river Sainj. It starts from the beautiful town called Shangarh which is famous for its jungles and meadows, all the way to the convergence of two glaciers where the river Sainj takes form. The trail goes through dense forest of Oak and Pine as you walk alongside the river for the first two day, running by massive waterfalls adding on the experience. Later on you get to witness grasslands, meadows around you, distinctive species on flora and fauna and the rare inhabitants of the national park i.e birds and animals. GHNP is also home to many rare and beneficial herbs, fungi and flowers which are used to make modern day medicines The Myths around this trek is also pretty interesting which reflects in the name 'Raktisar' itself. It is said that goddess Kali has beheaded the menacing demon called 'Raktbeej' and the head that fell, made a crater on impact where lies a holy lake. Overall, Raktisar is a culmination of untouched beauty, grandeur, wildlife, a perfect option to experience everything at one place. It is a must for nature enthusiasts.
