This summit is at an astounding altitude of 5200 meters or 17,150ft which lies in the Great Himalayan National Park, kullu district of Himachal Pradesh
One passes through dense forests of Deodar or Himalayan Ceder,
steep valleys, lush green meadows, waterfalls and glaciers which makes this trail quite and adventure.
5200 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर स्थित भगवान भोलेनाथ का अनुपम धाम ; जो कि श्रद्धा स्थल होने के साथ – साथ प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य से परिपूर्ण है । यहॉ से पार्वती पर्वत श्रंखला के साथ कुल्लू और किनौर के पहाड़ भी देखे जा सकते हैं ।
जुलाई से सितम्बर का समय यहाँ की यात्रा के लिए सर्वोत्तम है । जुलाई में २ हफ्ते की अधिकारिक यात्रा होती है जिसके लिए जिला प्राधिकरण कुल्लू ( हिमाचल प्रदेश) में पंजीकरण आवश्यक है ।

श्रीखण्ड महादेव की तीर्थयात्रा आपके विश्वास और धैर्य की परीक्षा का स्थान है । आपकी शारीरिक क्षमताओं का असली परीक्षण यहीं होता है । शारीरिक मजबूती और पक्के इरादे वाले ही शिखर पर पहुॅच कर श्री शिवलिंग का दर्शन और प्राकृतिक छटाओं का आनन्द ले पाते हैं ।
इस अभियान के रास्ते मे पर्वतारोही पहाड़ी वनस्पति का आनन्द उठाते हुए ऊँचे – ऊँचे देवदार के वृक्षो के बीच गहरी घाटियों के दृश्यों का आनन्द लेते हैं । घने जंगल हृदय मे अनौखा आनन्द उत्पन्न करते हैं । कुल मिलाकर यह अभियान रोमांच उत्पन्न करने वाला है।
पर्वत की यह चोटी ग्रेट हिमालयन राष्ट्रीय पार्क कुल्लू का हिस्सा है । यहॉ का पर्वतारोहण निर्मण्ड या आरसू की तरफ से शुरू किया जा सकता है । निर्मण्ड ( जाओं गाँव ) की तरफ से पर्वतारोहण सुगम माना जाता हैं ।
